Default Quick release safety button

Has anyone thought of removing the safety button on their QR to make it easier to release? I know its a safety, but has anyone ever had it save them from accidentaly pulling the wheel off? I mean it seems pretty secure.

why not just get a version 2 of the quick release with the paddle? That way you don't have to deal with the safety button

On the NRG quick release, there is a way to "flip" the button so that it is always depressed - that way you can release the hub just by pulling back on the collar. I did it a long time ago but kinda forgot how to but I remember it was really simple. Just play with it a little bit and see if you can figure it out.
