Pulleys
I am considering replacing my pulleys on my 98 GSR. There is a faint noise coming from them like a slight squeal and was wondering if the belts need to be changed. and when I change my pulleys should I do just like Alt. and underdrive or buy like a a full kit through like AEM or Unorthodox< I am probably going to buy from one of these retailers, but if there is a better company please let me know...Money isnt a real issue, but I would like to stay reasonable maybe like no more than $600-$800 I wouldnt think they are that expensive, but you never know...
waste of money more problems then benefits.. and are u sure its not your belts that just need to be replaced? bottom money if u are looking for performance look else where.. it will be a wast of money and create porblems running those underdrive pulleys
I have not modded very much at all just suspension, when I bought the car a few months ago it already had i/h/e, cam gears, and a fuel pressure regulator...And really I am saving money either to pay it off faster or put in a turbo and dont really know what to do first build the block to hold more boost or just go straight to turbo it...Its my first integra and its quick for a honda so I am trying to figure out which road to persue because I want to get this car done right since my last one was kinda of a starter to modding ended up more ricey than fast...So hopefully some of the more knowledgable honda tech people could help me out. Oh and I really want cams but dont know whether to go with ITR or CTR or jsut some aftermarket brand...

is there a benefit to upgrading these pulleys? seems like a waste to me.

aem or unothodox pulleys are crap unless you get them balanced
i would go with an ITR pulley if you want to run AC and PS still, or a balanced CTR if you dont, and replacing all the drive belts
I have a CTR pulley on my car and have had no problems
as for cams the CTR have more agressive profiles that the ITR cams

It depends on what year ITR you are talking about. The newest ITRs (I believe 00 and 01) use the same cams as the CTR. the previous ITRs were less aggressive.

i tend to agree. at the time i replaced them i had a belt that was starting to squeal on start up, so i figured "what the hell" i may as well replace the pulleys as well.
btw, they are blue, so that makes them look cooler than the stock ones.

00-01 USDM ITR cams = JDM CTR cams
the 96-98 and 98-2000 JDM ITR cams are different than the CTR cams

The only problem is that ITR and CTR pulleys and cams are not the easiest to find and if found not many people will part out their engines....But I am looking...Thanks for all the feedback

Get some ITR/CTR cams if you want a somewhat mild direction in cams,
Best pulleys would be no pulleys, just get a Single belt pulley for the crank to power the alternator. (like other people say, ITR crank pulley.)
Just take things slow, and do a lot of research before you start doing anything,
The more you know about the things you will be doing and what they benefit, the better off you'll be.

Sounds to me that you just need to adjust the tension in the belts.
Cost = $0
Don't bother buying lightened pulleys. You'd be better off just removing the power steering and A/C.
Also, don't bother buying cams until you decide if you are going to put a turbo on the car since an NA cam wont be ideal for FI, due to the fact that NA cams tend to increase overlap.

I just want to make sure that I dont break this car because i love to drive it fast or slow, its near mint condition and has low miles for being a 98. I want to make sure this car gets done right...
