Default Pulley?

Hey guys i heard their are different kinds of pulley systems that you can put on to your car. If I were to change it in my LS, which would be the biggest bang for the lowest price?

the generic ones on ebay would be the biggest bang-for-the-buck. though i would question their r&d. I'd only consider it if you are willing to take the risk.

ITR crank pulley for street cars.

ATI or Fluidamper for race cars where they're mandated.

Aem makes them too. I never liked pulleys though. The put a drain on your whole car. When you come to a red light your lights all dim not worth the 1-2 HP you MIGHT see.

Unorthodox pulleys are the best bang for the buck..includes an extremely light weight crank pulley..and accessory pulleys also

I installed AEM power pulleys on my 98 gsr. When you press on the gas The lights brighten up a lil off a red light or stop. I havent noticed any lighting issues when coming to a complete stop. I got a deal off ebay 60 bucks brand new. So im happy with them installed. I had the unorthodox pulley also . It didnt come with new belts and I didnt want to buy an additional belt so I sold it. The Unorthodox supposedly makes more HP since it a crank pulley.

my guess would be because of the alternator pulley, bc i have only installed my power steering pulley out of my pulley set and i havent noticed any dimming of lights at all

unless you just like the way they look or you have nothing left to do, pulley's might as well be crossed off your list.

the downfalls people talk of in my opinion... who cares......

lights dim a little while sitting at a traffic light... ok... you're not moving so how is this hurting you?

if you have a huge stereo you have no business under-driving your alternator.

ps at idle is weaker... ok, so it's a little harder to get out of your parking space... put some muscle into it girlie man.

i'm running a CTR n1 crank pulley and aem alternator pulley... i have no PS and no A/C. i guess i like it rough

-Erik <--- who got the alternator aem pulley cause it was bling bling

IMO the crank pulley from unorthodox.. occasionaly you will hear that it wears down crank bearings faster, but ive had mine in for 10K miles and no problems what so ever!
