sorry im gonna ask something similar..

a couple years ago I received a generic short shifter along with energy suspension bushings. The shifter appears to be a single bend (not dual) and ive been experiencing a lot of vibration and rattle. So I purchased a skunk2 dual bend short shifter and its on the way, along with some new energy suspension shifter bushings.

I was wondering if this newer setup would fix the issues I had with the generic shifter... sigh

i would think that the vibrations come from either the stiffer polyurethane bushings transfering more of the engine vibrations to the shifter, or on my friends GSR his skunk2 short throw sat so low underneath the car that it rub his exhuast piping. that could be another place the vibrations come from. he actually sold his skunk2 short throw and got a DC, the DC sits higher so it is further away from his exhaust. hope you follow me here.

My skunk2 SS would rattle like no other. I'm pretty sure they overtorqued / didn't torque something down enough, because it was fine with no rattles until they got their hands on it.

vibration due to it hitting the exhaust and hanging down to low....i had a problem when mine was hitting the exhuast hanger...i just cut part of it off and the noise/rattling was gone!

i had a rattling shifter till i clamped down the heatshield on the cat. now the vibration is down to aminimum... thankfully.

Just so you know, stiffer bushings will transfer vibrations through to the shifter
