are all b-series power steering pump interchangeable? i bought the car with the power steering gone and the pump squealing. the reservoir was bone dry though. should i even attempt to refill the reservoir to fix the problem or is it a lost cause because the pump is shot anyway? thanks.

 

i ran my pump without fluid for a good 20 miles and it was fine after I refilled it. Not all b seires pumps are interchangeable, Im pretty sure the brackets on some are different than others.

 

I believe all B series pumps themselves are interchangeable. I think though that the style of mount is different on certain models (like the ls, gs, rs compared to the gsr). So basically you would just need the PS pump as you already have mounts for it. I wouldn't know about '90 - '93 integras or the crv. I would try to fill it first, since you never know, and PS fluid is relatively inexpensive. Good luck!

 

thanks. going to acura in a bit to buy PS fluid. hopefully it works and fixes the problem. not sure how long the owner went without filling it. the car was barely driven and parked for awhile, so who know.

 

I don't know much about the DA models, but the '94 to '97 pumps use one type of high-pressure line and the '98-'01 pumps use another line.
