Default Which Pistons For Ls-Vtech

My friend is in the middle of his Ls-vtech swap. Anyways. He asked me to post which pistons for his setup. He is using the B16A1 head. He is debating between using the ITR pistons or the pistons out of the B18B1. Correct me if im wrong, but he would be running higher compression with the B18B1 pistons, right? Can the B16A1 block handle them? Anything else he should know? Which pistons would you choose? Thanks in advance.

Go with ITR pistons.

Other way around. The P73 pistons have larger domes.

And, if you were using the B16 block with a B16 head, it wouldn't be LS-VTEC.

The B18 block will be just fine. I'd be more worried about valvetrain.

I don't recommend you do anything till you learn a little more about engines. After reading your post i realized you really don't know what your doing, and you need to spend some time reading a helms manual and some tuner magazines to get a little more backround knowledge. Since you have a B16A block or so you stated, i wouldn't swap the pistons at all. If you had an LS block with a B16 head, i'd use USDM ITR pistons. I would also take it somewhere where they know what they are doing. Its best to get opinions from a few different shops and what setups they recommend as well as comparing prices.

if you put pistons in a b16 with a b16 head, it will still be a b16,an lsvtec is a poor mans gsr but they do make good power for what they are ,and you guys are funny as ****, v-tech, hahahha, i have that phone in my living room, hahhaha.........

you want to go the cheap way out, you can use pr3 b16a pistons....or if you want to do a good build and spend a little money, just get the ITR or CTR pistons!
