Outer CV boot change
Hey everybody,
I would like some help from some more knowledgable people, before I attempt this and possibly mess it up.
I'm changing the Outer CV boot on my 94 Rs. I'm curious to know exactly what procedures I should take, what avenue and what tool's I will need to complete the job.
Thanks

There are a few ways to do it. With the axle still on, replace boot and fill w/ CV grease; With the axle still out, clean component w/ turpentine, install boot, pack w/ CV grease, install axle; Or just replace the whole axle w/ a reman. one that has lifetime warranty.
You'll need:
32mm socket for the axle nut
Ball joint separator (looks like a fork..rent from autozone or wherever)
14/17mm sockets
Pliers
Take off the rim/tire
Remove the 32mm axle nut
Use the pliers to remove the cotter pin from the 14mm nut on the bottom of the wheel assembly/lower ball joint
Remove the 14mm nut
Take the ball joint separator and hammer it in under the rubber bushing in the lower ball joint, then it should pop the wheel assembly out. Swing it out, and if you need to you can tap the axle out of the wheel assembly with the hammer.
Undo the clips that hold the old CV boot on, and slide the boot off. Put the new one on, making sure to fill it with grease.
Put clips back on, install is reverse of removal.
