Optional Kit worth it?
i personally wouldnt buy fiberglass body parts since theyre so prone to cracking. even though the side skirts and rears won't be receiving any scrapes directly (if you're driving carefully) i'd still be paranoid at road debris damaging the pieces. my oem itr front lip took a lot of damage from the previous owner of my car, i doubt it would still be there if it was fiberglass or abs plastic.
i dont think the oem kit is worth it at all. I luckily ran into some1 with the oem type r lip and side skirts for real cheap but my problem was finding oem rear valences it took over 2 months just to find the oem style "fiberglass" ones, I found 1 real pair of rear valences but they wanted 300 dollars alone so i choose the fiberglass ones for 100 shipped so now im faking it lol as a real oem valence kit luckily i have the oem front and sides to back me up anyways even if your planning on buying the oem stuff everything together now is going to cost you about $1000 used take that
money and buy a turbo. with the fiber glass you'll be spending about 500 take that money and do some motor work. Sorry for the long *** paragraph i'm bored.

Well there's a site: http://www.2loww.com that sells the sides and rears for a cheap price.

Did you have to do some sanding? I understand that I may have to do some sanding, however, my dad works at the Acura dealership and most likely won't have a problem doing some work to make it fit properly.

Aren't the OEM sides and rears ABS plastic?

No, they are polyurethane like the stock front and back bumpers.

fiberglass is always a bad idea...
but why are you asking our opinions on the optional kit...in economics its what the buyer is willing to pay for the goods...so are you willing to fork over so much money for the optional kit...??? is it worth it to you???

Well I would definitely buy the fiberglass over the OEM at this moment. The markup on the OEM is insane. I am willing to go $500 - $550 for the sides and rear, but no one will accept that offer unless it was over $600. I also figure that the sides and rear wouldn't take as much a beating as the front lip. That's the only reason why I would consider the fiberglass kit...

Search around man, I got a 98+ rear bumper with OEM optional rear valences for 200. Just be patient and keep looking, remember your looking for a part(s) that are no longer in production, so people are gonna hold onto them unless they need to sell them.

I don't believe it is. I think the OEM is the best looking one ever made for the integra. Well if anyone in this nation has a set, please let me know! I'm really wanting one right now. Thanks

The only reason why you should hesitate about getting aftermarket sides and rears is because of fitament and its strength. I'm actually thinking about getting aftermarket rears to replace my oem rears because of a deep scratch the previous owner had.
Also, aftermarket sides and rears doesn't have the weather stripping (which I think makes it look better).

I just sold a pair of rears off my GS for $125... they were in workable condition, but the buyer will have to do some repair work before getting them painted.
I bought them in Vogue Silver for $179 from a guy on eBay... I had them painted and installed locally, but was never happy with the paint. The same place painted my lip and it looks good, but the rubber trim piece on the rears must have relaxed some after painting and ended up showing a line of the Vogue Silver color.
I bought the rears in my color (Cayenne Red Pearl R-505P) from a guy advertising here on the classifieds forum for $225. I'm much happier with these pieces than the ones I sold.
Pics of the ones I removed: link
My advice is to just be patient and keep an eye out on eBay and the classifieds section here and at HAN.
Good luck,
JD

I picked up a full OEM Optional kit (Sides and Rear) in some red metallic, and 98+ rear bumper in NBP, and a Comptech front lip for 94-97... all for $775 shipped. everything new in original packaging, with the exception of the rear bumper.

I guess I will try to look out for the OEM one's...
