Default Open Door Indicator

When everyone else opens their door do the door open icon and the trunk open icon illuminate or just the door icon?

Just curious because both of mine light up and I don't think that's right. I'm trying to determine whether it started when my alarm got put in or if thats the way it's supposed to be.

Go run out to the garage and open your door now. J/K

mines the same way, never thought anything of it....i think its just one light that lights that thing up.....its not like some other cars where they have seperate lights to light up which door/thing is open...i think its there to let you know something is open and since you only have 3 things that can be open its not too hard to narrow it down.

My lights only come on if the ignition is on and a door is open. On my old car the door light would come on when the door was open, no matter what.

It is the way your alarm was wired. 100% sure. My 94 GSR, for example, does not do that. Door indicator for door, trunk indicator for trunk. When they wired your alarm, they did not use separate circuits to check for door intrusion and trunk intrusion. If your alarm is really cheap, then it probably doesn't have enough circuits to do it separately. Otherwise, the installers were either ignorant or lazy.

HTH, Rainmaker.

its your alarm. I used to work at a stereo shop installing alarms and stereo and when you put the alarm in you have to put in a diode where the trunk light is and the guy who instailled it was just probably lazy and didnt.

Thanks guys. I didn't think it was supposed to be that way. I found where it is wired into the trunk so maybe I'll look into putting a diode inline with it.
