Default obd2 question

If i have a 98 ls with a 00 gsr swap. Does an obd2a works fine or do i have to get the obd2b. I need to pass emission since i have been running on obd1

obd 2a range from 96-98 obd 2b 99 and up. since your usin a 00 b18c1 you should use obd2b for emission but after the smog use obd2b to obd 1 jump harness to run your motor, does it make sense or confusing you.

i have to use obd2b? or obd2a is fine? cuz i have an obd2a right now..

I believe you should still be fine running an obd2A p72 ecu. It'll plug directly into your stock ecu harness.
