obd2 alternator on obd1 engine ?

obd2 alternator on obd1 engine ?
Is it possible to wire up a obd2 alternator to a obd1 engine harness. according to a diagram i saw the only diffrence is the obd1 altornator has a white/green wire, this wire gose into the ecm along with the white/red, what is the wht/grn wire for, and do i need it
