Default O2 sensor missing?

so i purchased an rmf narrow header for my b18b swapped 95 civic hatch, when i looked at the test pipe through the back of the engine, i noticed there is no O2 sensor hooked up anywhere on the stock manifold. just bolts screwed in. the header is still shipping. when i had my ford focus, i know running a header, I had to have a wideband o2 installed with an AFM gauge and get the computer tuned.

now with the honda world i know eveyone throws a header on their cars without any second thoughts. do i need the rear o2? the check engine light has been disabled because of the manual B series transmission hooked up to an automatic computer, so my friend cut a wire somewhere.

what are your thoughts? currently running a test pipe too.

the previous owner had a turboed 1.6 and lost a fin and blew the motor, so they swapped the 1.8 leaving half the turbo setup still there.

the 95 civic will be obd1 and have 1 o2 on the header before the cat or test pipe. If its got a bolt screwed in the spot remove it and instal one or better a wide band o2 sensor and air fuel ratio gauge. Get the engine tuned for better performance, get the ecu chipped with hondata software to tune the engine.

how much would wither option of tuning cost me? do i need to do a dyno run?

also would this help with my Mpg's having an o2/wideband? i dont drive very economically but this honda likes to drink gas from what I've witnessed.

I installed the header and so far i actually dont like it, although knowing now that tuning it might help, the car actually feels like its lost a lot of the pull that it had with the stock manifold...sounds like a tune will help. atleast it looks good though! Also another question, i want to run a Bee-R rev limiter in the future, would this affect any of these things?

Tuning deends on the tuner/shop and by the hour. Find a tuner in your area and talk with him about the tune, You can get it street tuned and not have it strapped to the dyno just drive as the tuner sits in the passenger seat tunning the car as you drive. You will need a obd1 ecu to be able to chip a tunable software, not sure what ecu you have but you might alreay have a obd1 ecu. Theres also free software the tuner can down load and use to tune it.

No but a wide band O2 and AFR gauge is one of the best and important gauges you should have! it will show you if your running lean rich ect at anygiven point driving. I like my Innovate MXT-L AFR gauge! Check your timing it could be causeing the engine to run rich burning gas, again if you had the AFR gauge you would see how much lean or rich its running!

Anytime you add a bolt on it changes the air flow so the ecu needs to be retuned so it can run better with the new mod so it coukld just be the tune is not off from the header making it run rich causing poor performance or your ign or mech timing is off causing poor performance and bad mpg.

If you invest in a Hondata s3oo ecu for tuning the tuner can setup a rev limiter for you via the hondata.
