o2 senser help
ok i was going to put my o2 sensor in yesterday....i find out my down pipe isnt long enuf so i stick my o2 almost at the end of my down pipe so it can reach it's connector....well after i get it in....the wires wont reach...so i continue to cut the wires and add some wire to it so it will reach....i finish and i'm still getting a code 41.....can i add wire to the o2 and it still work? or did i just waste a perfectly good o2, plus it being at the end of my down pipe will that affect anything? plus the wire i used to add length to the wires i thinik was a little bit smaller than the original wire on the o2? could that be a problem...

Did you reset the ecu and yes you can add wire just use wire connectors and it should fix it..

Wire guage wont really matter as long as its not excessively small...22 ga should be fine
No offence but I'm assuming you dont have too much experience in electronics based on these posts so:
1 - You can add wire no problem....make sure to preserve the order....I.E if you connect 1 end of the extention to a say red wire....connect the otehr end to the red wire also.
2 - SOLDER your connections, no twisting wires together ****. This means getting a soldering iron, cleaning the conenction with sandpaper, heating it with the iron while melting solder on the connection. You shouldnt have big round gobs of solder on the connection, there should just be enough solder to "silver" the connection. Then cover the connections with dialectric tape (black electrical tape).

i figured connect the red end to the other red end...they taught that back in grade school....i'll try the soldering the wires...thanks for the advice...
No worries...didnt wanna offend you, but most ppl end up dooing something simple like this and never mention it...and you can never figgure out what went wrong.
