Default NOOB question

I have a B18C1 swap going into my 90 STD hatch... from yall GSR owners out there... what's the best kinda gas octane to run to get the best MPG and power? (Wiki says 91.. but u can never trust wiki... and plus where would I find it?) And what's the best kinda oil? (Weight and brand) This motor is built...

I'm pretty sure factory recommends premium 91+. From my experience, my wife has an 02 MDX 3.5L VTEC recommends premium but we use regular 87 octane, I've tried premium and it runs no different. If it's turbo charged or extremely beefed up then I would say use premium only. I have a built 4G63 that I have to run 93+ I tried a little bit of regular once for the hell of it and it ran terrible. As for oil, in my opinion Valvoline full synthetic is where it's at. I run 20w50 Valvoline full synthetic race oil in my DSM and 5w30 Valvoline full synthetic in my Integra, MDX, and F-150.

Yes, 91+ octane. Also, as mentioned its factory premium only. Compression is too high for cheap gas. I did it once on my orig engine and it was pingalicious w/87.

I hope that was a pointless and sarcastic joke.

The B18C1 has a knock sensor and is designed, tuned for and REQUIRES 91+. Don't run low octane in your GSR for crying out loud.

Hard to believe 91+ isnt readily available where you are from.

Here in washington, we have 87, 89, and 92 at every single gas station

Mostly around here, we have 87, 89, and 93... but I think a Chevron or a Shell station up my street has 91

Looks like you guys get 87/89/93 down there. Use 93 octane in a B18C1. Don't use 89.

some Petro Canada stations here have 94(best we can get) so I always use that if not then 91 is always 2nd best.
