How do you know VTEC isn't engaging? With a Skunk2 IM, you might not hear the engagement point like you would if it had the stock IM.

vtec is probably kicking in at such a low rpm that you won't be able to hear it.

Check your oil and also get a test light to the vtec solenoid connector. other than that i dont know. but like they said, aftermarket IM might be sucking the sound up.

only thing i have to compare my gsr's vtec is to my brothers si. all he has is a header and you can definetly here the vtec. i would think with a im and header vtec should be more noticeable since its breathing better

bring it slowly through 1st gear....take it through 6k on light throttle and see if you can hear a difference in the engine tone. If you're hitting VTEC, it should be rather noticeable

just figured it out. at 4400 rpms at about quarter throttle you can hear it. its more noticeable in 3rd than all the other gears but i hear it but nothing like my bro's si. i have been trying to hear it at full throttle but at 1/4 throttle you can hear it

^^that's how i tell if its working or not on my GSR. If you give it barely any throttle, and bring it through the RPMs, you can hear the switch. I have an easier time because my HP Racing IM is a VtAk microphone
