Default Newbie Nitrous Question

I have a 96 gsr with: aem cai, dc 4-1 header, 5zigen exhaust (no cat),act clutch kit, xact flywheel, vafc. I would like to put a 50 shot of nitrous on it but i am new to nitrous. i heard the nx wet kit is a good choice. What do you reccomend I get? With the current modifications on my car will i need anything else to be safe? Yes i searched first

i dont believe in n20, but if your internals are not somewhat built, i would stay at 50 shot, just dont get button happy, or you will regret down the road

Okay - to actually answer your question

I would get a dry kit if you are only going to spray 50 - and 50 is where id stay. If you want to spray higher, I would consider the Nos plate kit for the GSR. Zex or Nos is fine dry-wise. Zex is much easier to install, so I personally would get that.

If you were going to shoot 50, all I would do is get one step colder plugs, and I would retard the timing a degree or two. Youll be fine if you do that..

Well i've been down the nitorus road and did not have 1 problem. The best bet for you will be to get a Zex Kit. www.zex.com or you can call 1888-817-1008 ask for Joey. Tell him Antwon sent you. he will direct you in whatever you need. If you have questions you can call me 817-528-8231 or im me. Good luck.

That is wrong info. I hate to knock him but it's wrong. You need 2 steps colder if you don't want the plugs to go out all the time. Trust me i went from NGK 6 which fell through to sevens which are still going now. Don't get the Zex plugs. They did not work out good for me nor my friends. That's the only things i don't like about Zex. Also with a 50 shot. There is no need to touch the timing. Leave it normal.

I have installed the ZEX kit twice, and each time it went smoothly...If you want to upgrade from a 55 shot to a 65 shot or a 75 shot you have to retard your timing by 2 degrees. There should be no problem w/ running a 75 shot w/ some cam gears as long as you don't use it too much. I am getting my cam gears installed next month and then am going to start spraying 75 shot....w/ just an intake and exhaust so far

ZEX tells you to retard it only 4 degrees...
