new clutch?
I'm trying to figure out if i need a new clutch on my 95 gsr or not. It has 103k miles on her.. It's kinda hard to get her into first and 2nd gear even when the clutch is in.. it isn't forcing but it isn'y gliding.. it's noticable and i'm starting to get worried. it started today, would it help to puit in synthentic oil in my tranny? i've heard that makes it shift a lot lot smoother.. if i do need a clutch, any suggestions?? Thanks
Do you know if your are still ride on the original clutch or has it been replaced? Also are there any click or squeaking sounds comming from the clutch when you disengage it? we need some more info to help you out try to be alittle more descriptive.
i think it's stock clutch.. an old lady had it before and drove it great, nice and slow but i've stepped her down a lot a couple of nights...i dont think there is any clicks or sqeakin noises.. but i noticed i had to slow down more to put it in first gear..ty

you can check if you need a clutch replacement by seeing where the bite point on the clutch pedal is. If its fairly low, you may need it changed...
but before going there, check your clutch fluid. it may be low, or you may have air in the line. I had thought i needed a clutch change until i realized my slave cylinder had a slow leak...
at 92k, im still on the original clutch doing just fine... Just had to replace the slave cylinder. the cylinder cost about $39 and cost me $60 in total to replace. it was a 15 minute job.
