need help with some electrical problems!!
Does anybody know what could be wrong with my integra with a new battery and recently checked alternator? My car won't start after sitting for a day or so and has to be jumped every time. The alternator test said it was fine, but i can't seem to find out what is drawing the power out of the car. Any suggestions?
Test all your fuses with a test light...with car in off postion, and then with car in ACC postion both inside and engine bay fuse...then report back.
Do you have a multimeter? To see if you have a parasitic drain, set the meter to amps and disconnect the negative battery cable. Touch 1 test lead to the end of the cable and the other lead to the negative battery post. I believe anything over 0.02A is considered too high I can't remember.
If you have a parasitic drain, have a friend start pulling fuses while you look at the meter. The fuse that causes the amps to drop is the circuit where you most likely have a short somewhere.
Once you find out what circuit is causing the problem, you can pull that fuse when you stop driving the car until you fix it. It's annoying but it will buy you some time.

Any chance you have an aftermarket head unit (CD Player)? If you wire it wrong, such as connecting constant to the ACC power wire on the cd player it will be on constantly and drain the battery.

I just unhooked my amp fuse that was connected to the battery and unhooked my satellite radio that was in the cigarette lighter. I don't have a multimeter though, but hopefully this will take care of it. I will let you know. Thanks.

You have a system? There is a Amp shut off wire that comes from the head unit and runs back to the amp, if you don't have that then it stays on and will drain the battery.
You can also try checking your ground wires too. Do you have any corrosion issues under the hood? Check these issues along with testing for parasitic drains. And disconnect any aftermarket addons (radio, amp, etc.)
It started up alright this morning, so I'm going to let it sit for a little longer to see if the amp was what kept draining it.
Usually it's those aftermarket devices that aren't properly installed, or a short caused by a collision. Good luck and also good info, coming from seanbev24
I started it for the first time in 2 days and it fired right up. Hopefully I got the problem solved but I will let you guys know what happens from here. Thanks though for all the good information.
