NEED HELP ASAP!!
i keep breaking my camshaft bearing cap bolts on my 95 ls. i have already broke 4 of them. and it is a brand new set. i dont know what to do. i tighten each bolt down finger tight then do 1/4 turn increments to each bolt. and ever time i get to the 2nd or 3rd turn a bolt snaps. im not using very much pressure at all. and the haynes book tells me to torque then to 86 ftlbs. is that correct? and im not even close to that. i am using a click style torque wrench. is there any little things i need to be doing in order for this to be done correctly? there has got to be something i am doing wrong and i dont know what it is. any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.
