need help
im getting my 2000 gsr worked on and the person that is doing it for me told me that it was a head gasket once he replaced the head gasket i saw a lil chip on the block and he ported and polished my gsr head, he also put new cam gears and spark plugs. when he started my car it took a min and then it cut off and it kept doing it. After that he called me and told me either my block is fucked up or my head is blown? any suggestions..... another thing if my head is blown what type of head should i replace it with? and if its the block then what all should i get while i have my bottom end open? please help me out

You posted this twice? Well which one is it, your block or your head that is messed up, it sounds like whoever did your work is a hack. Use a GS-R head, they have really good combustion chambers. Type R and B16 heads are similiar, and I am not positive, but I think they might flow better than a GS-R. If your block is gonna get torn apart, decide if you want all-motor or forced induction, and then build for that accordingly. Do you have cams in your GS-R, if you don't it doesn't make any sense as to why your porting and polishing your head and adding cam gears if you don't have higher lift cams. The added possible flow of a ported head won't really do much on a stock GS-R top end. I would ask some more questions to whoever did the work on your car.
