need help!
ok so my last post was how i awas going 75 and my axle and ball joint went out on the drivers side which turned my wheel completley sideways....neways
today i got my new fat five gsr rims (yay) and i was installing them and just to be safe i checked the passeger side ball joint and axle...n guess what? yes both were bad....so i replaced the ball joint (btw there was no cottor pin! just a nut with a plastic blue piece inside .....better? worse? i thought there was always a cotter pin) that was a biotch to get out with a hammer! lol and then i get the axle and i didnt think i had anti lock brakes so i got the one without....installed it and now well obviously the anti-lock brake light is on because i guess i had it... but also i get a wierd feeling when getting higher in revs (4000 +) kinda liike the gears arnt meshing right and im afraid to go higher just incase
my question is....is there abig diff between the al axle and the non-al axle? i think i might be pulling that sob out 2mm morning but does that mean i would need a new ball joint too? or is there a way to take the axle out without disconnecting the ball joint...?
thanks

so you replaced just the ball joint or you replaced the whole axle? normally around here its about the same price to go to napa and get rebuilt axles. the only difference in the abs axle and the non-abs axle would be the rubber ring on the actuall shaft of the axle. I replaced my abs axles with non-abs rebuilt axles from napa and i had no problem at all. this was for my 94 LS integra with obd1 gsr motor.
yea i just replaced the cv axle, driver side was done by a mechanic, and i watched. passenger side i did myself. is there a certain way to insert it? it doesnt feel right at all and yes both
and yes both what?
if you are trying to remove the axle... then yes you need to remove that ball joint. be careful when you remove the ball joint not to hit the bolt head with anything hard because you will mushroom the end of the bolt and never get your nut back on.
be more specific on what it is you are tryin to do..
