the matinence required light came on. i know it comes on if u dont reset it after like 6k or somting. but i could have sworn i did that last oil change(2k) its time for a new oil change, but i was just wondering if that light came on for any other reason, than if u dont reset it? thanks

 

It is just pre-programmed to come on when you are "supposed" to take it to Acura so they can make some money off you. All they would do is probably change the oil and "check" everything. You don't need to worry about it. Just reach underneath the dash and reset it. Mine came on a little while ago for no reason. I just reset it and everything is ok.

 

Yes, it's the write a "check" to Acura light. What a neat way to make money. If I remember correctly, I think it blinks a few seconds after startup after the first 3000 miles and then stays on all the time after 6000. This was the first thing I every used my Helms book for to figure out what was going on.

 

to reset... it is a button on the right and to the bottom of your steering wheel... well, its really hard to explain in words... there's a great classic H-T pic in the ITR section... look for it there... you hold that button down for 2-3 sec until its gone...
