Default Main Relay Compatibility

Hi,

I have a 98 GSR with a main relay that's acting up. You know, that known issue where they heat up too much and restrict the car from starting for 5-10 minutes when it's too hot because the solderings are cracked.

Anyways, I want to buy a new one - 60$ at the dealer... but around 30$ tops on eBay including the shipping.. but they state it's for accords...

What I did to find it is but the model number on the main relax enclosure (MITSUBA RZ-0159) - 12 Volts.

So my question is, would that 98 Accord main relay fit my 98 Teggy - it looks identical - same model number - simply odd they dont mention it can fit other cars if that is the case...

Any input appreciated
Thanks

-Rock

I dunno about the Accords, but my buddy picked up a main relay for me yesterday for $5.00 at the local pick n pull

Once out of a 5th gen civic will work as well.

Be safe and get the one for your car. I actually did a lil write up on this very thing in my thread this morning

Thanks

I'm not a cheap person but I wouldn't say no to save 30-40$ on this.

What's the worst that can happen?

Your car explodes while driving by the white house, leading them to think it was a terrorist attack (possibly by the russians?) and setting off a nuclear war wiping out 1/4 of the earths population and kicking off a nuclear winter and forever altering the course of human history, ending life as we know it and possibly life alltogether... all because you were cheap.

Or just not work.. Whatever.

Then you return it and get another one Mine was working.. so since I bougth a used one, I just put it in the glove box in case this one decided to stop working all together.

Bored with an over-active imagination is more of what I would call it.

To each his own

I mean, really.. What else is it gonna do? Just not make yoru car work.
