I Have recently done ls/vtec but it is not running right. The Vtec is kicking in at 5200 rpms but you can't feel it kick till 7000 rpms. Does anyone know what i could do to fix this or what i should look for? PLEASE I NEED HELP!
I dont really know what you want for specs but I have: a 98 ls block, with a 00 type R head,a p72 ECU, skunk2 intake manifold, type r exhaust manifold and My problem is that it doesnt really kick when vtec is engaged My check engine light is on because i do not have a knock sensor would that be effecting anything?. I also am not having very much power at the low end of the rpms. It just seems to put around until it gets to 7000 rpms. My friend did ls vtec and his car pulls at 5600 rpms

The VTEC is simply a crossover point, not the point where you feel "M4d t0rqu3, Y0!"
Around 6000 - 8000 RPMs is where it really pulls hard, getting it right in the powerband.
The crossover point is simply where cam shafts switch lobes from low-lift/low-duration to high-light/high-duration
