yeah man, my experience tells me it is a bit unreliable. both of my homies had their ls's done with vtec heads and their vtec doesn't even kick in as it would on a normal vtec motor and even if the job is done as right as can be, you will still have to maintain it very well, itz not really worth it, I say go the whole swap or all motor.
oh........and by the way my homie's lsvtec got smoked by an ls with stage one camshafts an intake and an exhaust, and he smoked us by at least a car and a half's length

Default so far no problems

as for experience they do work fine!
did a set up for a 94 hatch w/92 blck and b16a head.
and till now its still kicking ***...
but if you are doing w/ prelude bottom and v tech head more
problems w this set up.
you have to get the crv bottom for sure in order to run good.
just make sure you are taking the car to somebody that has done it before and its
reputable
try this website to get an idea of what its needed to be done.

http://www.g2ic.com

as for the cams well its easier to play with and you could bump up your power
from the getgo.
use crane cams they have a higher lift than crower ps
make sure you change you spring and retainers.
go to the following website
http://www.cranecams.com to decide what cams you would like in your car

if your ls vtec got smoked by an ls that makes you a *** and you should not be street racing or talking about this at all i have 89 civic with an ls vtec and i rape ls, gsrs, and all ops R/T neons all day long so if you got beat by an ls just go home i've had my motor for about 5 or 6 months or soo and i beat the **** out of it every day and it's still kicking *** every day so send your ls boys my way and we'll see if you change your mind. thanks later

thats right if you build it right, & know how to tune it . dont knock it if you havent tried the best of it.
