Ko3 in a 91 DA
yeah.. i got a free volkswagen ko3 turbo.. i was wondering if anyone's ever seen it used on a b18,.. especially a b18a1... cuz that'd be awesome.. also, if anybody's got a cheap header that i can machine/adapt, lemme know... or i could kind of remote mount it, seeing how it wouldn't take much to spool up anyways.. i dunno. i've never turboed anything, and i've worked with some DSM stuff, but never my own.. so just curious about what's gonna be impossible, and what's not. thanks.
i'm not sure, but i know its smaller than a t25, and i found some crazy *** german compressor map, if you wanna see it, i can post it for ya, but at any rate, its a little turbo, i know they're generally not too good after 5000 rpms, but i have a non-vtec b18, so the powerband runs out right around there, i plan on doing this for as cheap as possible, so would i absolutely have to swap intake manifolds, or would mine just be slightly too small.. also, if anybody knows anyway to force more fuel into there, that'd be nice, i hear you can swap some 1st gen dsm injectors into the rail without too much work on a d16, but i'm not sure about the rail i've got...i dunno, i just don't wanna blow it up.. i'd like to run minimum boost, maybe 8psi, just for fun mostly, i have no intentions of running even like...13s
im sure it would be an alright turbo for the b18a, youcan always swap it out later
I would definitly get ahold of some larger injectors, DSM one swap in fine and go for pretty cheap
you do not have to swap intake manifolds, your stock one should be fine
for a cheap tuning program you can go with either crome or uberdata and a socketed ECU
