K20 Possibilities?
is it difficult putting a K20 Into my DA? I was debating on puttin some real power into my DA. Do they even have the mounts for this process? Upgrading from LS/Vtec.

True, but i'm getting a little tired of this answer, because that doesnt really tell them anything.
Putting a k series engine in an integra can cost in the upwards of 10 grand. Is 201 or so hp at the fly worth it to you?

That's true.. I really didnt even notice that. But from my understanding, it's not only the parts that cause the problem with the expense. What kind of goals do you have for your car? How much experience would you say you have working on cars?
you'll probbaly need to fabricate a few things.

10k? maybe if you plate the engine in gold. like someone else said you can get a wrecked rsx for 2-3k. for 10k you can rebuild the motor and get a turbo on there.

unlike b-series you dont see too many budget k-swaps being done in garages. it takes more tools, some fabrication and time from a skilled technician to perform the swap. might not be as expensive as people say, however do not expect it to be turn-key. if a shop promised to sell you a completed swap for $8500 motor, parts and labor included,
that would be about par from what I can tell.

so 5-6k for the extra parts and labor? do people actually pay that much?? it's called a project car for a reason; you do it as a project. saving that much cash alone makes it worth the time to learn how to do it yourself.

Huh? Maybe I'm missing something, but from everything I've read, a K-swap doesn't require any special fabrication. There's mount kits available from several different companies, axles as well, wiring harnesses, a shifter kit from Karcepts, and probably a header too. What more do you need for a bolt-in installation?

You have to cut out the shifter area to accomadate the karcepts shifter box, it doesnt just bolt right up you have to cut a good sized piece of your floor out to get it to work correctly.

Ok, but that still doesn't sound like "fabrication" or "time from a skilled technician" to me, just a few minutes with a sawzall. The previous post makes it sound like a K-swap requires welding or some other work requiring special tools and skills which most DIYers don't have, and that just doesn't seem to be the case.
