K&N Drop in filter (almost)?
A while back I thought I read about a way to make a drop in K&N filter. Something about chopping the end off the stock filter, and using it to adapt the K&N to the filter box.
What's the part number for the K&N filter? I want to try this.

Do you perfer the larger or smaller K&N filter. I saw two pictured.</TD></TR></TABLE>
The RU-2820 is the best choice, when used w/ the stock filter's neck and endcap, the size is pretty much exactly the same as stock.

doesn't the Comptech Icebox's tube already bend forward and you just strap the K&N onto the tube? I'm pretty sure that's right, there's no need to use any stock filter parts in that case, only if you want to use a K&N in your stock airbox.

Well part of the gains from the Comptech system come from using the tube which is larger in diamter than stock and also smooth inside. I bet you could use most any short-ram intake arm that is made specifically for a GS-R.
Looks like most other GS-R short-ram intake arms going by this pic:

My point was that the tube bends at the end so that it faces forward, unlike most generic intake tubes for Civics that have only the one bend up by the throttle body.

Are any additional modifications needed to use the RU-2820? Or is it the same process as shown on the link to the 3130? Break off the white plastic part & mesh and install the 2820 using the original clamp ring.
Looks too easy to be true.
