Default k in a dc2

i have been doing some thinking and some research on the k swap into a dc2. mostly a the k24a2 or k20a2 engines where used. was looking at hybrid racing site and some past articles of the k series swap. i just wanted to know is it worth the cross over? i know skunk2 and hosport ran a integra with a k24a2 and it was a success. the parts list is very $ and then getting the engine.
-im only asking this because it looks like every thing is going to be going with the new k series engine and i was wondering if it was worth all the time and money to do a k series swap?

worth it? that depends on a few things:

1. how much does it all cost? add an extra $1500 to your total for safeguard
2. can you afford it?
3. what kind of shape is the car in?
4. how long do you plan on keeping the car after the swap?

personally, i would save the ballpark $8000 for everything and use it for a downpayment on a newer car, or put it in an account w/ high yield interest

but if you do go for it, k24 block w/ k20 head is where i would be focusing

ya i was looking at the cost of parts fro hybrid racing and the $ keep adding up. i know in a lighter car the k engine would probably move faster but it looks like it would just be worth buying a new car the cost. the k20/k24 was what i was really looking it to doing.
- not sure on the cost of the whole thing i talked/ im talking to a guy at hybrid racing on a package deal but i would still have to buy the engine.
- hopfully i can afford it. i have that b16 engine in there for now so this is a project car thing for now. i have heard some good? things about the power potential of the k in a older car.
- the car is in ok shape nothing really wrong with it but the front bumper is a little damaged. it has a b16a 2 jdm engine with exhaust, intake, chipped p28,bbk fuel pump 255
- i would like to keep it for a long time to show everybody the work ive done. and mostly show all the people at work(that bash imports and love only American muscle) that imports can throw down some pretty sweet power out puts.

Do you have cash for the build?

If you plan on doing this through credit cars or a loan I woul say NO. But if you could afford it and have no other BS debt than go for it.

Also, to go along with Graf-fiti mentioned; don't forget to include some more money for unseen expenditures. There is always something that comes up that is often overlooked and all those small things add up.

Do you plan on doing this yourself?

well me a group of friends are going to maybe try to do this swap. it is the same group that help install my b16a into my car now. i do plan to pay in cash. i just need to plan the whole swap cost and what is needed and go from there. if i do decide to go with the swap i will let everyone know how it went and posts some pics of it.

it all depends on what you want to do. My buddy has a k24 bottom end with a type s head with cams , mild port and polish, rbc manifold and a good tune. and that thing moves!!!!

if you have an abundance of money and can afford to spend it like that then its really what you desire to do. this is not one of those things where you save that dollar amount and start the project. you will get maybe 4/5ths into the project and find out you ran out of money. its happened to alot of people i know. i just came across some money and i know that its much better spent on something that wont put me over my limit and wont suck me dry of cash.
