JB weld to patch radiator?
i just got my teg the other day and there's a leak on the top of the radiator. its tiny, but it's still spewing coolant all over the engine bay. it looks like someone already tried patching it with some clear/white looking stuff. should i take that off and put some JB weld on there, or is there some other stuff that would probably work better?
jb weld doesn't bond to areas that are 1. painted, 2. wet, 3. non metallic. the top of the tank is plastic, so it probably wouldn't hold, use fiberglass
well i put some bar's stop leak in it this morning and it didnt do anything. now its overheating and my A/C wont work. so i got some plastic weld, i'll see how that works out tonight. it says its good up to 200 degrees, so it should work fine till i can get a new radiator.

Say NO to JB weld on radiators. The moisture from the radiator wont help it stick. Not to mention, the heat will just form another crack. DId it to my accord when I was 16....Cost me a whole new engine.

yes, a new radiator.
yes, a new radiator.
Use a soldering iron and melt the radiator back together first then sand and epoxy it for strength. I used fiberglass cloth dipped in epoxy worked fine for a couple years. If you used the bars stuff flush it promptly it will plug up your heater core and its a bitch to replace that.
