gear driven.

not that good of a LSD from what i hear. buddy of mine has one in his LS/VTEC hatch, when he is launching, he has to turn the wheels a bit for the LSD to engage. it's not like the Quaife where it's on the whole time.

the Quaife and the ITR LSD are both a helical gear type LSD, basically the same design. It doesn't turn on and off...NUTWEAVE, your friend might be a little off about what he is talking about...the LSD is in all ITR trannies, and was an option on JDM cars (B16 and B18 equipped cars)...HTH...

HAHAHA....he magically engages the LSD with a slight turn of the wheel. What does he engage his VTEC with? His brake pedal?

from what I understand the biggest diff. b/t the two is the quaife has more teeth/greater surface area than the ITR.

someone please affirm or correct me

it attaches to the final drive.
hence it is a gear driven lsd
the itr lsd can handle loads of up to 300 pounds of torque
the quaife has a lifetime warranty.
quaife's go for about 900
and itr's can be had for 300-500 on ebay

go here and look

when people told me that it is clutch type, thats the reason they gave me..... they said the clutchs slip until it warms up and then starts to work.
but looks like u guys know for sure that its with gears.....
