Default Itr Lsd

I have a mostly stock 99 GS. It's an automatic. So what exactly would I need to do to install an ITR LSD. If you don't think it would be wise for an amateur to install one, how much would installation run me?

I wouldn't suggest attempting an install unless your familiar with the internals of a transmission. Nor would I bother putting one on an automatic

Why not? I'm losing all that power at the wheels. I'm on a limited budget, I'm barely making my car note and insurance, so the cheaper mods that give me more torque are all I'm interested in. No I'm not switchin' the tranny so leave that **** alone. I just need to know how much it would cost to install the lsd on my ride.

List your car and mods and I'll tell you if you should invest in an LSD or not.

Mods: Just CAI and Exhaust. If it is possible then I will do it, if not, then f*ck it. I'm only payin' $100 to get the damn thing and it only has 18k on it. Will it work or not, that's all I'm asking here.

hey , if you bought it for 100 , i'll buy it for 150 ??? cash , i have a 5 speed , it will NOT work for your auto tranny and wont help you a damn bit for now , you have a non vtec ( mostly stock ) engine, your not pushing much power , so you wouldnt need it at all, and it wouldnt help much . .. if you did have a 5 speed it would cost you prob 250 to 350 for the install at a shop . . .

You may be right that he can't add one to an automatic, I'm not sure. But don't tell him that it won't help him that's just a lie. I have one on an otherwise stock GSR and it has made a world of difference. Cornering, hard acceleration, and foul-weather driving are all vastly imporved over stock.

So to havokmkr, I say at that price buy it. And if it works in your car, sweet. If it doesn't then just sell it for more money. But I can tell you from experience that it's more than worth it.

yes and no.

for instance, ITR lsd's can be installed into a GSR or b16 cable tranny without too many issues. To do so in an LS tranny, you would have to modify the housing. It's not as simple as a yes or no answer.

I wanted to install it but it is not within my budget, to do all the modifications needed. I've done some research and it won't fit my transmission w/out enough money in labor to buy a new tranny. Anyway he just sold it to this guy w/an electric blue civic si for $250. Thanx for you help.

your mods are pretty weak and a ITR LSD wouldnt really be next on the list IMO.

Its really expenive to open up a trannys internals just to put a LSD in, and it sounds like you dont have much money to spend. Pretty much it be pretty pointless in a auto tranny and in your car.

So what would you suggest I do next? I either want to sell it and buy a 2000+ ITR or put a supercharger on it after I get my graduation money.

I dunno man, I still say it's worth it if you really want it. I used to have I/E on my car, and I took them off because of the noise levels...and the LSD is the only mod where I was able to tell a difference. It doesn't matter if you don't have a powerful setup, you will be able to tell. Maybe not as much with the auto, but trust me you can tell, whereas with most mods, like I/H/E, you can only really hear the difference.
