Default Interval changes in Helms?

I have a Helms for a 94 Integra and the timing belt interval is 144,000km and
in the 98-01 Helms it is 168,000km, which leads me to be confused.

Did they upgrade the belt or routing path in later years?

I have a 94 and the belt has been changed once by the dealer, so I'm thinking it might have an upgraded belt or was there something different on later cars increasing the maint interval??

Thanks

75,000km ? I would say that is excessive. I've changed mine at 100,000km and it looked near new. No tears or cracks.

Yea, call me ****, I autocross the car and use it as a DD, I run a 75 shot ZEX system and the thought of snapping a timing belt at 6000 RPM while spraying is what makes me do it.

I also double up on my oil changes, [the shop that does the oil changes, my Pennzoil sponsor, thinks that's excessive also] but then again I am driving a 94 Integra with over 200,000K that has been drag raced and auto-crossed since new and it still runs like a dream, does not burn oil, [no smoke at any time] and other then the two OEM rads, the starter motor and a brake caliper bracket nothing else has had to be replaced on the car or engine.

Excessive maybe, worth it, hell yes. 94

I hear ya, 220,000 for me and also changed the rad. Plus thermostat, shocks and springs, clutch, but thats about it. It was built to last. Doesn't burn a drop of oil and I use Synthetic with 10-12,000km intervals.

I flush and replace the coolant system every spring, along with flushing and replacing the brake and power steering fluid. 94

Bleed PS fluid? How do you do that?

Hummm, You do not bleed the PS fluid, you drain and flush it out.

Not sure about the belt change interval, maybe a better quality belt or just to coincide with the tune-up interval on the newer model. 94
