Integra LS spline count difference?
Can anybody tell me if all 90+ LS tranny's have the same number of splines on the input shaft?
Somebody told me they were different between 90-91 and 92-93(or later), but I was double checking on various sites, and it actually seems that they're the same.
Please help!

nobody in the integra forum knows?
I talked to both Advance and Autozone. Advance tells me they're the same part. Autozone tells me they're different.

the 90-91 are small spline, while the 92-93 are large spline (like the 94-01). So yes, they are different and Autozone is correct.

Think of the splines as ridges on the input shaft, if it's small/thin spline, you can fit more around the input shaft. The larger splines are thicker, so there are fewer going around. I'll see if I can find a picture for you.

yes please if you could.."smaller" and "larger" are relative.
unless i had an actual 90-91 or 92+ clutch...i wouldnt be able to know which is the "smaller" one

Ok, I couldn't find a picture to save my life. So to describe, the 92+ b-series transmissions have a larger diameter input shaft and they have 26 splines (I think the splines are also a little thicker than the 'small spline' ones, but I could be mistaken). The important thing is that the actual shaft and the count of splines is different.
The 90-91 b-series trannies (including ones that came with b16 motors) have a smaller diameter input shaft and 24 splines. The only thing this matters for is the clutch plate. If you try to put a 90-91 clutch plate on a 92+ tranny, it won't fit on because the input shaft is too thick. If you try to put a 92+ clutch plate on a 90-91 tranny, it will fit over because it's too big, so it should be really loose. As for the flywheel and pressure plate, they are reportedly interchangeable, it's just the clutch plate that will be different.
Hope that helps. I want to say the 24 spline input shaft is 26mm in diameter, and the 92+ would be a bit larger, but I can't remember where I got that information.
