You have to boost or go vtec to make an ls fast. Unless you want to try to build your ls wich will be costly and fruitless.

I have read about Cowler cams and hondadata tuning. I don't remember which version of cams are the best.

you could do a motor build...but if you do that you might as well boost it...LS-VTEC is a shakey thing though so if you do make it LS-V make sure it's done right...but yeah, a GSR head would do you some good...and if you don't want to boost it because of a tight budget, check out www.xs-power.com - i've known a few people with turbo kits from there and the only problem i've heard about was the exhaust manifold cracking...but that problem can be solved by either buying a kit with a cast-iron manifold or buying a cast-iron exhaust manifold separately.

"you got to pay to play" there is no real cheap way to gain hp. either do a ls-v or any other b-series build.

here is your options

1. lsvtec
2. all motor ls
3. turbo
4. swap

ls vtec is gonna be your best bet for a daily driver, but if you dont really know anything about building one i would stay stock until you learned a little more.

Seems like your on a budget...so here is what I would do, crower 403's or 404's cams...PR3 or P30 pistons to bump up your compression, and a B16 tranny out of a 2000 Civic SI...Then get it tuned...I am sure you will be happy then! Good Luck, but to make really good numbers GSR head with P30 pistons, or slap a snail kit with 550 injectors something that is on the smaller side so that your stock LS can boost fast, make sure to keep it at a low boost since you are more then likely going to running on stock internals, and what ever you do, just make sure you tune, that is the key to horse power.

The way I see it...take the time to save money to get quality parts (for boosting, etc.) and do it right the first time...rather than being impatient and slapping something together that won't run right, and will end up prolonging your desired gains just as long anyway.

the most power you can get for your money dollar for dollar is piecing together your own nitrous kit. IM TELLING YOU! all motor is wayyyy to expensive and you wont get near as much power. turbo will cost much more since you will always want to up the boost and with that you have to spend money on more parts.

i am right. there is no other way.

Not trying to hijack your thread but I've being meaning to ask the same Q for my 95 integra ls thats all stock no boost no nothing. What would be a good budget to do this?

"This has been discussed over and over again"
1.What would be a good budget to do this?
2. would be daily driving
3. just enough
4. getting better
5.On it

i'd say $2000 would be a great start for any build. especially if you shop around in the marketplace for parts. i've seen complete turbo kits go for 700-1000 bucks. that leaves you with more than enough money for a tune, and other optional parts you desire. but, i wouldn't ask about the budget, rather what kind of horsepower you want? that is the more important question. then you can know yourself if it is reasonable or not.

t3/t4 60 trim, 440cc injectors, skunk2 manifold/ and tb, a good tune at 10 psi should get you past the 250 mark. and if you shop around, i'm sure you can get the parts for under a grand.

Well, i'm sure this is your first time...so expect it to take a while, and it expect to run into problems. Luckily, somebody made a step-by-step which I will provide you the link with now.
