i did a search didnt find exactly what i was looking for. my question is if i buy a complete kit will i have to do anything to modify my stock usdm integra headlight for HIDS. my main concern is will the HID bulb be to long for the stock integra headlight. also if anyone has HIDS on there integra with US headlight please post up pics. thanks
I guess it all depends on the HID kit you buy. The bulbs should fit perfectly in the OEM housing. The only thing you've got to figure out is where to mount the ballasts.
Here is a pic of my white GSR (5k), and my girls old GSR (6k). It's the only pic I could find online, and as you can see the exposure was set too high.

I haven't done the conversion yet, but you should look into getting HID projectors. I've had my HIDs for 3+ years and haven't had any problems. The projectors on the integra are okay for HIDs, but you'll get a more focused beam pattern if you upgrade to the HID projectors.
I'll eventually do this mod, but all my "extra" money is going into my 240 at the moment.

the stock gsr projector will work for now right? will the light be spread all over, or will it be decent? also what temp is a good temp. i like the way audi's look. i dont want anything crazy colored tho. i was thinking maybe 6 or 800k. but i am having my doubt about the 8000k.
You only get the real hue of bluish/purple from real HID projectors (with 4300K bulbs---that is the standard Kelvin temperature stock-HID equipped cars come with off the factory). We can't achieve this on the stock Integra projector since it's designed for halogen output.
Get 4300K---you wont be disappointed. They turn blue'r anyways in the course of its lifespan.

All production cars have either 4100k or 4300k. The differnent color in the Audi's is a result of the optics used in the headlamp assembly, not the capsule.

Anything above 6k is just insane. I've seen someones car that he claimed he had 8k's and I swear it put out as much light as my Silverstars did before I did the HID swap.
I'd stick with 4-5k.

Anything over 4300K is a waste of money, and I do mean waste, because you usually have to spend more and end up with less light output.
My experience with HID in the stock projectors is that it is crap. With 4300K I had light that was very bright directly in front of the car, where it wasn't really needed, and the light would fall off quickly with increased distance (where I did need it). The beam pattern was not wide at all, the cutoff was fuzzy, and there was no color whatsoever at the cutoff.
OEM HID projectors make a WORLD of difference. Nowadays you can get everything you need to do a retrofit for under $400.
