Default INTEGRA OR CIVIC?!

hey I have about $4500 to spend i have been looking at civics between the years 95-99 with 70-90 thousand miles on them. I also want an integra extremely bad after driving a friends Ls. i can afford an integra between the years 95-98 with around 100 to 120 thousand miles. Whats your opinion with what car to choose. I know the basics such as how the car was treated and all that. has anyone here been in the same situation. What are your opinions Thanks guys

id go with the integra as long as its in good condition, you should be able to get a pretty nice ls, or a decent gsr for 4500. id personally go wtih the integra just because it is the nicer of the 2, with the moonroof and power everything.

I can tell you that the answers you find on here will be biased towards the integra. So I vote for the integra. Just make sure you do your research before you make your final decision

it depends on what you want.

From what you said, it almost sounds like you're leaning towards the integra. You said youve been really wanting one, so go for it.

If you like how civics look too, and would prefer to have lower miles, get the civic.

Dont let us make the decision for you because if you end up not liking it, its gonna suck for you. get what you want and dont care about anyone elkse.

I completely want an integra more than the civic. I'm just worried about getting another high mileage car after having a horrible experience with a grand prix gt with 115000. am i taking another big risk buying an integra in the 100K range. i know it really depends on alot of things but what are my chances and for the mustang nooo way not after what happend to me and the grand prix...no american cars for me this time

i had a 97 civic hb before i got into an accident. right now i have a 95 integra gsr. i like the integra a little better because of the power. its up to you really. ls=more hp and torque than the civic but i like the civic's apperance more. both of my car got me 400 miles a full tank so im happy.

my civc had 103,xxx miles on it and the gsr had 203,xxx miles+cam seal oil leak. it depends also on how the owner took car of the car.

i understand they usually can last to 200,000 but is that really the usual or just the ones people like to brag about.

is it taking a big risk or are integra's really that good that the majority of 100k integras will last to 200k

hondas generally last a long time unless they are severely beaten and not maintained.

As long as general maintenance is done, it will be fine. If you want to feel more safe, think about bringing along a mechanic or something to help you do a compression and leakdown test to check the health of the engine.

so a compression and leakdown test can really show how good of a condition the engine is in. how about all the nickel and dime parts i don't have to much money for all the little $200 here and there

mileage is the last thing you should worry about in a Honda...I would go with the Integra anyday though I would recommend a 92-93 GSR

yeah.
Look for leaks everywhere, test drive it through all the gears to make sure nothing grinds or anything like that.
Test out all of the features, power wise.

If everything checks out itll be all good.

Also, you may want to bring an obd scanner if its obd2 that way you can check to see if it has any check engine lights.

You should expect to do a full tune up after purchasing either car.

So theres an example for you. Yea the rings are shot because my compression isnt that high but i plan on rebuilding anyways so its all good

my 93 gs is at 175xxx and still getting 35 mpg. burns practically no oil, whoever had it before me was the man (or woman). my 98 gsr had only 89k when i got it, and that thing sucked gas and leaked oil..

I moved from a 93 Civic hatch Si to a 95 Integra LS and if I could go back I wouldn't have bought the Civic. I got more interior spacing, the buttons, ***** interior felt better. Gotta drive both to see.

if he plans on modding it later, it wont matter what he starts with as long as he likes it.

All of that can be changed.

It just depends on what he likes better. The looks, the interior, and all of that.
I know thateverything can change, but performance wise is the easiest.
Theres no resaon for him to buy a civic then convert the engine and the interior to look like an integra... if he wants the interior of an integra, go with that.

If he likes the exterior of the integra, get that.

You seem like you want the integra.... Dont let people change your mind. You can find a low mileage obd1 ls, rs, or gs and be happy with that

youre posting in the integra section obviously people are going to tell you buy a integra and if you post it in the civic section people are going to tell you to buy a civic. buy whatever you want, but dc2 is sick.
