Default installing tachometer but doesnt work

so today i wired everything to what was sed..
red - to radio wire.. 12v
white- illumination
green - RPM input
black - to whatever is metal..

tell me if tahts correct?
i couldnt get it to light up or to work .. please help me someone .. 4 wires were cut off since my car is a 4 cylinder

Whats wrong with this setup?!

you wight wire would go to the 12v source and the red need to go to your ignition wire

i been searching up so much that it says it need to go 12v

does white go to the one in the gauge cluster?

Your ignition wire is a 12v switch, and yeah white could go into gauge cluster, connecting to one of the wires for a bulb.

Red wire splice to black/yellow wire
White wire splice to red/black wire
Green wire splice to blue wire
Black is ground

my white wire went to the blue with grey dots in the gauge cluster..

That's your tach signal wire

okay i finally fixed it and it works.. how do i adjust it? do i hold the red button then move the dial up?

Turn you key on but don't start, move the red button to the RPM you desire. Turn off the car and start your car and test it out.

the stock tach is usually off, espically in high RPM. the autometer should be a lot closer to what the engine is revving.

you should have only cut two wires on the back the brown and orange if its anything like mine maybe thats it?
