Installing SRI, simple question....
I should have trouble with the install, all I wanna know is why I have heard that you need to reset your computer too??? Probably a dumb question but I couldn't find anything while searching so....
It is necessary for the computer to be reset so that it can adjust more quickly to the modification you just made. The air flow into the engine will be changed by the different intake, so your computer will need to 'learn' the new setup. It's easy to do it, unplug the ECU or disconnect your battery for about 10 minutes. Then, start the car, and leave it idling for another 10 minutes - don't touch anything.
Also, your car will eventually 'learn' your mods itself, you can just leave it and over a few weeks it will adjust to the mods to optimize performance as much as it can.

what purplegsr is pretty much correct. You need to reset your ECU so it knows that you made changes to your motor. pretty simple.
Oh, wow. And I thought I was gonna get flamed for askin'.... Thanks a lot for the help
Should I disconnect the battery before or after the install???

after is fine, you can start your car after you do it, to make sure everything is attached and working. You just want to disconnect the ECU later on to make it learn, or you can not reset it and just let it learn by itself. If you are making a trip to the dyno or something, you will want to reset it to get the optimal effect.
