I was recently rear ended in my 97 2 door and my bumper flew off and the piece above it that houses the trunk keyhole (anyone know the name of this piece?) is bent. Has anyone taken the piece above the bumper off? If you have please point me in the right direction. I'm also looking for a link to find out how to get the bumper support bar and the actual bumper off and on.

I think it's called the Trunk Valence. I'm not sure on that though...and as far as taking it off I have no idea

 

I've had to replace mine. It is very easy.

First take off the rear trunk plastic panel that covers your tail lights. It is bolted on from behind there. You need to remove the lock too.

Shouldn't take more than 1 hour.

helms manual is my bible!

 

Helms is very helpful..but that piece u r talkin about is the Trunk Valence..located right above the bumper and below the trunk hatch..

 

How much are the helms manuals by the way?
I have A manual... but its not a Helms.
