Idle Dropping and Car Sputtering
After my car has been idling for a bit the rpm tends to drop. It's not like when the car is warming up, it's any time i leave it idling for a while, whether it's already warmed up or not. After about 10-15 minutes of leaving the car on, the idle drops down to like 900rpms. . Usually my car idles at 1400rpms. . . If i drive the car when the idle is dropped like that, it causes my car to bog really bad. . it almosts sounds like misfiring. If i turn off the car for like 5-10 minutes and start it up, it's fine. . the bogging is gone. What do you think could be causing this? The ignitor??? The plugs and wires are both new and they're both NGK's. I have a fuel pressure regultor and it is set at 38psi. . . I'm about to check the distributor cap and rotor right now. . I'm hoping it's that since that is the easiest thing to fix. . .any ideas. . .

def. not your ignitior, cause they're like work or don't work... and 900rpm is a good idle, 1400 is way too high! and if your car bogs at 900rpm then there is something wrong also besides your idle being too high... i would replace cap and rotor, and readjust your idle to 800 or 900rpm for all the time...
Unless your car is full race, it shouldn't ever idle high at 1400. Super high profile street cams should idle around 1000 or so at the most. Mine idle between 700-900.
i know it's idling high. . but thats really an easy fix. . .the problem i'm worried about is the sputtering. . . i can have it sit at 900-1000 fine. . thats not a problem. . i just have to actually do it. . .the sputtering is the only thing i'm actually worried about. . .
i do plan on doing the cap/rotor and adjustment though. . hopefully that will solve my problem. . . thanks guys. .
