Default HyTech: Worth it?

So, I'm looking to ditch my hyper medallion/dc 4-2-1 header for a better flowing combp(tanabe has 2 bottlenecks)

2100 for the entire set up.....header, muffler, b pipe, cat, etc etc

somewhere alone the lines of 20whp untunes

is this worth it...or should I spend the money to upgrade my valvetrain to make more power through higher rpms

anyone know a dealer I can buy from instead of going directly to the web site?

Just remove the bottlenecks from your Tanabe and buy a new header/cat. Spend the rest on something else.

If I get a new header I'll probably go with a jdm ITR or a JDM DC 4-1

Yes it's worth it.

HyTech header makes about 10hp more over the JDM DC 4-1.

PM VtecVoodoo he might have one. He's used both and now rocks a Comptech Race header. He'll vouche for the HyTech design.

You get what you pay for. HyTech is simply one of the best. the JDM DC doesn't come close to touching it.

http://www.HyTechExhaust.com

..id say it Will be worth it if you want Maximum Power out of you car. If you just plan on ITR cams then i dont think so..but if your gonna get Jun3/4's or something equivalent then Yes.

Here is the link to the test that I did last August https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=269935 and here is the untuned dyno:

Car facts -
Comptech icebox and intake
Mugen headgasket(no correction to cam gears, roughly at -1.5, -1.5)
Hondata intake manifold gasket, street setup

Run#33 - Testing was done as delivered...just hoping on the dyno and seeing what the car put out.

Run#35 - Just bolted on the HyTech header and HyTech exhaust, test pipe was used.

full version, cut and paste:

For the rest including a semi tuned version please follow the link above.

for 2100 (plus a bit for your old header) you could do a half decent turbo setup... and make a shitload more than 20hp

So could every ricer in the world. The point is this is one of the best exhaust systems you can buy, regardless of how much it costs.

Exactly. And If you wanted a Turbo setup, Hytech makes an exhaust for them too. It'll make more power than any turbo setup, just like this NA header makes hella power over any regular NA header.

How long is the wait for a hytech header? Its also not fair to compare that header to the dc jdm header as you can see the whole exhaust system changed, not just the header. Although those are very impressive gains. 2100 is so damn pricey though. They were right when people said "n/a ain't cheap".

The thing is custom made to your application, hence the wait for it.

And what changed about the exhaust system? The point is the Hytech is far more supperior to any mass produced exhaust system.

Get a design plot for the hytech exhaust system and have some muffler shop make you a custom knock-off. Same as hytech only much cheaper. Talk to some people who know they're sh*t. If you want to really get the most out of your exhaust talk to surferx or MichaelDelaney on http://www.team-integra.net.

I doubt HyTech will just give up their designs to just anyone.
