i just wanted to know how water makes rods bend or go through the oil pan...wouldnt it be just like burning coolant? i dont get the physics of it..can anyone explain?
did you bother searching the itnernet on hydrolock?
essentially what happens:
water goes into teh combustion chamber.
the piston comes up on the compression stroke and tries to compress the water. well, as we all know, water doesnt take kindly to compression, so it bends the rods nad ***** some **** up.
does that help.
holy crap 1 second on google.

well if you are burning coolant your headgasket would have to be blown. which means the cylinder won't hold much pressure. So when you actually get water in there it will just squeeze out (when you have bubbles in your radiator)or go out the exhaust.
The reason you can hydro lock a motor is because water is an incompressible liquid. You can't make water fit into a smaller space with more pressure like air.
so When you get a bunch of water in a cylinder and you have a good seal (headgasket) the piston will try to force its way up and compress the water. A few things can happen. (bent valves, broken piston, broken/bent rods, blow headgasket/ blow the head off.
hope this answers everything
