I want to take off the side moldings on my 2-door Teg and fill in the holes so it looks smooth
how much does this run if done by an autobody shop?

 

Should be in cosmetics, but anyways, I paid the shop $40 extra to take the body moldings off both sides, weld in the holes, and paint.

 

It wouldn't be much if you are already getting your car painted, but if you went expressly to get it done I'd say almost $1000.

 

On my other Integra, I was quoted $1300 to do all the work on the side moldings from the best shop in town. But I went to another shop and got the work done, as well as some other work on the body and it came out to be a little over $1000. The removal of the moldings was done over 2 years ago, and it looks just as good as the day I picked up my car. It's a mod that takes a little weight off the car, and makes the car look 10 times better.

Plus the moldings don't protect the doors anyway...

 

The weight savings is negligible. this is a cosmetic mod.

You'd drop more weight by taking a good dump before a race
