Help regarding Coolant level
Hello gang, Today I was bored so I went out and checked all of the fluids and stuff like that on my teg. When I came to the coolant overflow tank it is BELOW the MIN level!! So The thing is i just got this car like 2 months ago, and i dont know what mixture ratio or what kind of coolant was used in the car. So this is my daily driver and dont wanna take any chances. What should i do? Add more water/anti-freeze? Should I just do a 50/50 until it goes up to a suitable level? I cant flush the system right now because i dont have the tools i need with me. Any help is appreciated.
I say just flush it. but since you don't have the tools . for now you can just put 50/50 in the Coolant Resevoir till its inbetween the min and max. but then when you do have the tools flush it and put new coolant.
add a 50/50 mixture of silicate free coolant/water to the reservoir tank until it is at the maximum level. If the radiator needs coolant, it will draw it from that reservoir through the black tube you see running from the cap to the radiator.
Don't worry, you didn't do any damage, if there is still coolant in the reservoir tank, it's not a big deal at all. Just add some to get to the min line or above.

Thanks bro, I really appreciate the help, that is just the type of answer i was looking for
. Do you think regular prestone is silicate free? i think i have some of that around here somewhere.

Yeah, regular green prestone is fine. I am positive that it is Phosphate free, which is the most important thing, and has low levels of silicates (at worst). Do not use the Orange Prestone GM/Dexcool stuff, it is not designed for Hondas.
