if u guys remember i hrydrolocked my gsr towards the end of december and now im rebuilding it. here are my plans:

13:1 CP pistons
eagle rods
85mm darton sleeves
ctr cams
aem cai
zex dry kit

im having the bottom end done this week. do u guys think the compression is too high for pump gas? and some pros and cons of this setup? any suggestions would really help. thanks guys

 

Ummm........no.

Not going to happen on pump gas. Plus the CTR cams will seriously be restricting the motor with that kind of compression. Consider staying at around 11.5:1 compression and perhaps Buddy Club 3+ cams.

 

im gonna have to stay with ctr cams for now because of money issues.

 

kendall hit it on the nail. the CTR cams wont do that compression ratio any good. just aim for a compression ratio in the mid 11's. a set of JDM civic P30's would do just that (about 11.6:1) or a set of USDM B16a PR3 pistons (about 11.4:1). or if u want a stronger more reliable engine for nitrous, a set of forged pistons will be great.

i've heard only good things about the BC 3


while the head is off, i would invest in some springs and retainers and possibly a ported head
