HELP! Multiple Misfire Codes 2000 Integra GS-R
Hey all,
About a month ago, I was driving though pouring rain in traffic with zero visibility. Long story short, I ended up driving through deep water, causing my 2000 Integra GS-R to get stranded for a bit on the freeway. CEL came on (turned out to be for the crank position sensor, probably due to it being submerged) and car was unable to move. After waiting a few minutes, I limped the car to the nearest exit, cleared the CEL code, and drove it around for a bit. Seemed fine with no issues.
About a week after that, I started the car up again, only to find the CEL on for the following codes:
P0301: Cylinder 1 Misfire
P0302: Cylinder 2 Misfire
P0303: Cylinder 3 Misfire
P0300: Random/Multiple Misfire Detected
P1399: Manufacturer Control Ignition System
Odd thing is: the car drives fine? If anything, it feels like VTEC no longer engages at 4,400rpm (this could just be placebo, though.) I will say, I would clear the codes prior to driving it. Besides that, no strange idling, bogging, or actual misfire that would severely impact the car's ability to drive. Only thing new I noticed, besides the perceived lack of VTEC, would be a consistent rattling at idle upon start up when cold. The car recently had a head gasket replacement, timing belt replacement and cylinder head refresh about ~3k miles ago.
Before I start throwing money at the car to try and fix the CEL, does anybody have any insight as to what the culprit most likely is? Maybe the cat being submerged in water damaged/clogged it somehow? A timing or valve issue? Would it really be as simple as just replacing cap/rotor, plugs and wires?
