Default Heater Issues

My wife has a 95 LS Integra and the car's heater is not working properly. Basically I slide the climate control over to hot, and the vent blows hot air for about 10 - 20 seconds and then it gets cold again. It does this with both the A/C on and off. I thought it was air trapped in the core so I bled the coolant system through two cycles with the heater on full blast. Next I checked the heater core hoses; the intake tube was hot, but exhaust tube is semi-warm. So my thoughts were the heater core was plugged or the heater core valve was no good. So we replaced the heater core valve, but no dice. I blasted compressed air into the heater core with both sides disconnected and blew fluid everywhere, so the flow through the core was good.

The car also had a few other problems under the dash so I pulled the whole freakin dash off, the A/C evap system, the blower, and the heater core. I cleaned up the **** smelling A/C radiator , and plugged a nasty leak coming in through the blower intake, but the freaking flow through the heater core looks fine so I am at a loss at what to do. The manual's trouble shooting doesn't really identify this problem . Does anyone have any thoughts as to the cause?

Thanks

I would go with this also. Back when I had my first vehicle, a Ranger, it did the same thing. It was cold enough while driving to keep the temp down, tricking you into thinking things were ok. I would change the thermostat and see where you are. It's like $10 or so plus some coolant.

Okay this is most odd... My wife replaced the heater core valve Part #: W0133-1623491 with one from another Integra (pick-n-pull style) and the valve is opening opposite from what it should be, i.e. heater on=closed valve, no heater=open valve. This explains why turning on the heater blows hot air for a minute then it gets cold. Very odd... I'm hitting the junk yard again this weekend to search for another valve.

On the flip side I fixed the leak, replaced the seals on the climate control system, and cleaned vents/chambers. No more pee smell
