that wasn't necessary.
doing that is called an ls vtec, there's a lot of info about it. if you search, you'll find a good amount.

u have to get the whole kit though to make it work. alot more goes into an LS-Vtec than just putting on the head. ECU has to be changed and wiring also oil line and other variuos thngs. do a search lots of help on it
