Default GSR CPS problem

I have a 2000 GSR with a little over 100,000 miles on the dash. The only performance upgrades are a no-name CAI, headers, and 2.5in. cat-back. The Cat was replaced 4 months ago. Over this summer I burnt a valve in the head. I got that fixed, new valve, seals, etc. I replaced the head gasket and spark plugs, and put everything back together then took it to Acura for a valve adjustment in early September. The car ran great for a while. Recently it has been hesitating and sputtering in the morning when it's cold which usually goes away once driven for a while (1/2 mile). I think it is running rich based on the black residue on my rear bumper, and the fact that it backfires occasionally once you step on the clutch. Two days ago it threw a code p0335, Crank Position Sensor malfunction. I erased it and it came back that same night. It just threw another one, but have not gotten it checked out. The first time it threw the code it would not let me rev past 3500, but the past two times it will. My question is what is causing this, is it the sensor itself or the distributor?

So, the light comes back on within a 1/2 mile of clearing it. Same code p0335, and I have wet fouling in cylinder number 2. The car is running like **** and doesn't allow me to even get past 3k, but when I initially start it up it will run ok for a few minutes and then goes back into limp mode. I don't exactly have the money to start throwing parts at the car, so I would like to get an opinion. Should I replace the sensor or the dizzy? Or is my car just a pos?

When I disconnect the battery to clear the code, it will run okay for a while, then the check engine light comes back on and it runs like crap again.

If your throwing a code, you should check to see what it is. As you said its a crank position sensor. One of two things i would recommend is that right next to your crank pulley there is a sensor wire sticking out with is ran to your oil pump. You will find your crank position sensor there. Check to see if it is unplugged, or maybe need to replace it.

Yea, don't think the blown head gasket is helping anything either. Taking care of that this weekend, and will check on the condition of the sensor.
